This is a Public Service Announcement... Allow Me to Reintroduce Myself

Dearest wanderers, stragglers, and lurkers,

Four seasons have passed, Blogger has changed its interface, and I actually have no idea how to create a new post. These are the times, friends.

V.M., ya'll.

You will find me older (if not altogether wiser), and of strong spirit and opinion. So much to discuss, and yet I know not where to begin. (A song? A dance? A humble verse, perhaps?) Too much, too soon, I'm afraid. Let's stick with the facts:

Destiny's Child reunited, and Ryan Lochte underwhelmed at the Olympic Games. Jennifer Lawrence charmed the world, and "Kimye" became a thing. J.K. Rowling released a new novel, and WMATA closed the southside escalators of the Pentagon. Highs and lows, folks. Highs and lows.

Still, there's much to celebrate. HABEMUS PAPAM! Gainful employment! Virginia liquor laws! (Sayonara, Puritan Pennsylvania.) My roommate is delightful, and the prospect of writing regularly is enticing. Taylor Swift has entered her everyone-saw-that-coming "rebel" phase and continues to create music videos of unparalleled emotive depth--- with poignant interjections from goats, Nicholas Cage, and paper towel dispensers. In short: The Lord is kind and merciful.

Moving forward, it is with full heart and clear eyes that I pledge to bring you incisive commentary on hot-button topics:

  • The joys and plagues of the MetroBus (romance! odors! seventh grade flashbacks!)
  • The causal correlation between a man's Wingtips and how much of a D. he is
  • The pixie cut's reign of terror in Tinseltown
  • Space Cowboys and Tom Ford (re: an examination of conscience)
  • Dressing for the litugical season
  • Super-Doublers, or "How Harris Teeter Will Change Your Life"

The future is bright, and only fills me with slight trepidation. (Girl Meets World, I'm looking at you.) In the meantime, Blogger, we'll always have Parisian fonts.

Thanks for coming along for the ride, you crazy kids.

Love and chicken nugs,
Col

(To my cheerleaders/general inquirers/innocent victims, Matt and Alex, I dedicate this rather indulgent and scattered return. For the record, I don't even like pie. But I do like Pushing Daisies - CC, 3/14/2013.)
